Supporting Children with Autism, Where it Matters Most - School

SLF partners with families, schools, and licensed BCBAs to bring high‑quality, in‑school Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) support that helps students make meaningful progress where it matters most, the classroom.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to help students succeed in school by providing in‑school ABA led by licensed BCBAs, in partnership with families and schools. We coach your current providers, write clear behavior plans, and coordinate with your child’s school so every hour moves learning forward. If services haven’t started yet, we can help set up both a paraprofessional and BCBA where appropriate.

What this looks like in practice:

  • Belonging & access: Respectful, inclusive supports in general and special education settings.

  • Skill building: Teaching communication, social, and self‑management skills that help students participate.

  • Partnership: Families, teachers, and paraprofessionals aligned around clear, workable plans.

  • Lasting change: Training, visuals, and routines that outlast our visits and keep progress moving.

Our Services

Giving your child the tools for their future

WHAT SLF PROVIDES

Choosing support can feel overwhelming, so we keep it simple. We coordinate with your child’s NYC school and DOE provider to help your child. We tailor our services to meet your child’s needs and school routines. If services haven’t started yet, we can help set up both a paraprofessional and a BCBA, where appropriate.

  • Provide licensed BCBAs who build individualized behavior plans

  • Coach DOE providers in real time (SETSS, paraprofessionals, related services)

  • Track progress and adjust strategies as needed

  • Enhance what’s already in place rather than replacing existing supports

Support by the Numbers (NYC DOE)

Many families don’t realize DOE‑funded services include significant weekly hours for behavior support:

  • Preschool: up to 25–30 hours/week

  • Grades 1–3: up to 22 hours/week

  • Grade 4 and up: up to 15 hours/week

Hours alone don’t drive progress; expert guidance does. SLF helps turn those hours into steady gains in the classroom.

YOUR CHILD MAY QUALIFY FOR DOE FUNDED ABA SERVICES IN SCHOOL

Your child might be eligible if any of the following apply

  • IEP/IESP indicates behavioral or social‑emotional goals

  • Frequent off‑task, disruptive, or unsafe behaviors

  • Difficulty with transitions, routines, or peer interactions

  • Limited response to current interventions

  • A clinician/evaluator recommended ABA or behavior services

Good news: If services haven’t started yet, we can help coordinate school approvals and set up both paraprofessional and BCBA support where appropriate.
